What is the difference among heat transfer ink , dye ink, and pigment ink?

Heat transfer ink also known as sublimation ink, mainly used for heating transfer printed products, heat transfer ink can be heated by heat transfer machine, put pattern and text clearly printed on other products, so heat transfer printing ink is one of the indispensable materials in heat transfer industry. It is the same as dye, pigment ink, mainly used for printing.

From the print effect comparison, we can see that heat transfer ink have more advantages than both.

1.Heat transfer ink.
Compared with other dye inks, pigment inks and water-based inks, heat transfer inks have bright colo,r and high density.Heat transfer ink is mainly produced in the United States and South Korea, the United States and South Korea heat transfer ink have bright color, printed on paper, the United States heat transfer ink and South Korea heat transfer ink have light and clear patterns, after through heat transfer machine heating, the image is clear, color reproduction is high, which is the advantage of imported heat transfer inks.In China’s current production heat transfer ink manufacturers are mostly concentrated in the southern cities, although heat transfer ink price is much cheaper than the United States, and South Korea , But domestic heat transfer ink color is darker, and printing on paper, high degree coloring, after transfer printing, the color reproduction is poor.

Due to heat transfer ink have high density, it is easy to plug the printer nozzle, however imported heat transfer inks can avoid such a phenomenon. At present,in China’s heat transfer inks market is rather mixed. The domestic prices are about 4 jiao to 6 jiao one milliliter. The US and South Korea heat transfer inks are around 8 jiao to 1yuan. However, due to the import heat transfer printing inks and domestically heat transfer printing ink have difference in price and quality, making heat transfer ink market is confusing, currently domestic sales US and South Korea heat transfer ink units are mainly concentrated in Beijing and other first-tier cities.

2.Dye ink.
Dye ink is molecular-grade fully dissolved ink, this ink is a complete composite solution, plug head probability is very small, inkjet easily absorbed by the material, colorful. And low cost, the disadvantage is not waterproof, and due to dye molecules in the ultraviolet light it’ll rapid decomposition, resulting in the outdoor UV use within a month there will be significant fade. Advantages are colorful, structured and the price is lower than pigment-based inks, it is preferred product as printing pictures, making color spray business card ect applications.

3.Pigment ink.
Pigment ink put the image point, that is, powdered ink, of course, this is just a kind of image speaking not accurate enough. Accurately speaking, it is the solid pigment grinding into very fine particles, dissolved in special water solvent, it is a suspension solution or semi-solution, with our printing and dyeing clothing have the same pigment nature.

Contrary to the principle that dye inks penetrate into media to form color, It is through color material attached to the medium surface to colored (such as copy paper or printing paper, etc). Therefore, the advantage is use pigment ink to printed, when printed on plain paper it does not plug ink, and because the pigment itself have waterproof, not easily decomposed by UV light, the water-resistant is strong, and resistance light. Printed things even use in outdoor can be maintained more than one year without obvious fading signs.

The disadvantage is that most of pigment ink will leave color material on the surface.

Therefore, even if have glossy paper ect flat surface paper can not be printed glossy images, this is why use pigment inks printed things with no gloss reasons.
